Changes at the CHaRM The Eco-Cycle/City of Boulder Center for Hard-to-Recycle Materials (CHaRM) serves Boulder County and beyond as a collection site for materials that cannot be put in your curbside recycling bin, including electronics, small appliances, plastic bags, mattresses, and more! NEW MATERIAL ACCEPTED! On June 1, 2021, the CHaRM will begin collecting NEW GLASS ITEMS, including: drinking glasses and other glass tableware such as plates and bowls, everyday glass housewares such as glass awards/trophies and vases, glass air fresheners, and glass candle holders. * Please NO ceramics, mirrors/mirrored glass, lightbulbs, laboratory glass, Pyrex or oven-safe glass cookware. FEE CHANGES Starting June 1, 2021, we will be changing the facility’s fee structure to reflect rising business costs. As always, there is a $3 facility fee upon entry (applies to all material drop-offs EXCEPT for scrap metal), plus updated recycling charges for some items. The new fee structure is shown in the chart below. NOTE: CHaRM is discontinuing the facility fee waiver for electric vehicles starting June 1. The fee will continue to be waived for bikes. The Frequent CHaRMer program is actively being phased out in favor of a new loyalty program currently in development. |

CHaRM is also getting a face-lift with new siding, signage, and changes to where each material is collected. During renovations, the CHaRM is expected to remain open for regular business hours until further notice. Keep an eye out for our team in blue vests who will happily help you find your way! If you have any questions about the upcoming changes, please don’t hesitate to reach out by emailing charm@ecocycle.org. |
