Make your voice heard to help slash methane emissions in Colorado Dear friends, As environmental programs and efforts are being cut and weakened at the federal level, it is crucial that we get involved at the state and local levels to protect communities and ecosystems. During the month of February, we have the opportunity to make our voices heard as Coloradans. Let’s use it! The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is in the process of updating landfill emission regulations and wants to hear from you! Landfills are a major source of methane—a potent greenhouse gas that generates when organic discards, like food scraps and yard debris, break down without oxygen. This invisible pollutant leaks into our atmosphere, driving global warming at an alarming rate. |
