Colorado has a recycling rate of only 12 percent, well below the national average of 35 percent. The good news is that school districts around the state are stepping up their efforts to reduce waste. As sustainability issues become increasingly important to Colorado school districts, a number of districts have implemented (or are planning to implement) recycling, waste reduction and/or compost collection programs.
Come together with your fellow school district professionals and local government officials to share best practices, learn about what leading districts are doing and gain new insights on how to start or expand programs in your schools.
